the good news

The most important decision you’ll ever make

Think that going to church or believing in God makes you a Christian, or that God will let you into heaven because you’re a good person? With your eternal destiny at stake, it would be wise to see what God has to say. The Scripture says there is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death. (Proverbs 14:12)

The Bible is clear that the way to heaven is not by our good works, but by the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross. For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). He [the Father] made Him who knew no sin [Jesus] to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him (2 Corinthians 5:21). In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace (Ephesians 1:7).

To be saved, born again, or become a Christian all mean that we turn from our own way and turn to Jesus Christ. We do that through The ABC’s of Salvation.

Admit you are a sinner. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. (1 John 1:8)

Believe that Jesus died for your sins and rose again. For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

Confess Jesus Christ as Lord of your life. If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (Romans 10:9-10)

Salvation by grace (God’s unmerited favor) is not a concept taken out of context from one or two verses. It is the central theme of the entire New Testament.

As it is written: There is none righteous, no, not one. (Romans 3:10)

For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. (Romans 3:23)

For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 6:23)

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8)

Therefore whoever confesses Me before men, him I will also confess before My Father who is in heaven. But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. (Matthew 10:32-33)

Unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3)

Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved. (Acts 4:12)

For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself a ransom for all. (1 Timothy 2:5-6)

God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. (1 John 5:11-12)

If you are ready to Admit, Believe, and Confess, pray this simple prayer in faith.

Dear Heavenly Father, I come to you in the name of Jesus. I believe that Jesus died to pay the price for my sin and that he rose again. I admit that I am a sinner and ask you to forgive me. Jesus, I confess you as Lord of my life, and from this day forward, I will serve and worship you. Thank you for saving me. I love you, Jesus. Amen
