Day 29 – The Hidden Things
Jeremiah 17:9 – The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure, who can understand it?
Ephesians 5:8 – For you were once darkness but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of light consists in all goodness, righteousness, and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to mention what the disobedient do in secret. But everything exposed by the light becomes visible, for it is light that makes everything visible.
Lord Jesus, today I pray for my children’s hearts. Your word is so clear that it’s human nature to have things hidden inside that we don’t even know are there. Lord, I pray that ___________ would recognize their potential for sin and deceit and respond in humility. Your word says you oppose the proud and give grace to the humble. I thank you that my children will walk in grace established and rooted in a humble heart. Lord, as they walk in humility, I thank you for exposing the areas of their lives that have been hidden. Cause sneakiness and dishonesty to rise to the surface. Cause unique temptations and strongholds to be exposed by the light. As things come to light, I thank you that my children will not walk in condemnation – but will give way to overcoming grace through humility. I thank you, Lord, that __________ are children of the light. I pray that you give them a continued love for the light. Thank you for your grace that shines as light in their lives. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
