Day 37 – Focus & Determination
Hebrews 12:2 - Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfector of our faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Oh Lord, I thank you for the gifts, callings, plans, and dreams that __________ represent. You have lavished your blessings on them and filled them with your Spirit. I ask that you help them to see, with Kingdom vision, all that they have been given. Help them to be good stewards of their “talents” and not bury them in the ground. In each child, focus and determination will play a part in actualizing their potential. While you are the one who opens doors, they are the ones what stay the course. May my children have laser focus on the end prize – living a life that honors the Lord. When times are difficult and focus is fuzzy, let them fix their eyes on Jesus, who demonstrated the highest level of determination and endurance. As they see him, let them not lose heart.
As Paul writes in Philippians 3:12-14, may my children, “Press on to take hold of that for which Christ took hold of me.” Give them the ability to run hard, be disciplined, and stay focused in every season of life. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
