Day 38 – Time Management
O Lord, thank you for the abundant life you give to __________. You’ve created them for such a time (KAIROS = APPOINTED TIME) as the day and age in which they live. Help my children to grasp the value of time at a young age. Allow my children to see themselves in light of history and, simultaneously, recognize the importance of each day. May they understand the importance of stewarding their days. Lord, I pray for Holy Spirit conviction and accountability in their lives which addresses, “How do I spend my time?” Jesus, teach my children to number their days aright and gain a heart of wisdom. (Ps. 90:12) Help them to overcome the temptation to spend energy and time on temporal things – especially workaholism, excessive hobbies, social media, gaming, television, fantasy reading, and frivolous travel. All of these have addictive tendencies and, in the end, produce little spiritual fruit. Cause my children to live their lives in time as unto you, carrying no regrets for how they have spent it. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
*((Prayer for myself on this topic)) – Help me, also, to model being a wise manager of my time. I know that I can’t tell my children to “do as I say and not as I do.” May the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart (how I preoccupy my mind in time) be pleasing to you. (Ps. 19:14) Show me areas I need to improve and grant me God-strategies to walk in victory. Give me strategies to help develop this in my children as well. Help me keep eternity in view as I live each day.
