Oh Lord, even this title topic brings a certain heaviness with it. Everyone has expectations – yet these are often the very things which produce disappointment, frustration, and resentment. I pray that you would help us to:
- Communicate our expectations effectively
- Have and embrace realistic expectations
- Give up unrealistic expectations
- Not get angry or bitter when even spoken expectations aren’t met
- Cause expectations to be a positive motivator in our marriage
Lord, allow grace, humility, forgiveness, and love to reign. Let there be no place for pride and unforgiveness. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
