Lord, I thank you for showing me my own heart and the places of unforgiveness that I’ve let simmer specific to marriage. I pray that we would continue to “check” this part of our hearts. In seasons of “missing” one another, having unmet expectations, not feeling like needs are met or opinions are heard, and just wounding one another (usually not purposed), help us to examine ourselves before you to be sure we are truly and fully forgiving. As 1 Corinthians 13 says, let our love not keep a record of wrongs. Also, please help me forgive myself when I wrong my spouse and fall short of my own expectations. Help me to be quick to repent and quick to forgive. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
