Day 16 - Not Ensnared by Media

Lord God, As my grandchildren grow up in this corrupted world system, I pray that You would keep them from the evil one (John 17:15). Set a guard around them to protect them from the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life (I John 2:16). They are so bombarded with the deceitful messages that come through myriad avenues of media that are constant voices in their ears. I pray that You would, first of all, convict their parents about having healthy boundaries on media watching and scrolling and gaming. Give them hearts of determination to set a higher standard within their home that will help ______________ to see an example of self-discipline. Give them creative strategies to fill the time that is so easy to crowd with screen entertainment. Help them to not overly rely on media to babysit their children.

Draw my grandchildren’s hearts to places of quiet. May they learn to value the satisfaction of reading a good book, creating something with their hands, playing outside, enjoying board games with others, being active, exploring Your world of creation, and appreciating music. Cause their particular giftings and interests to be sparked and revealed so that time can be spent developing them instead of being glued to a mindless media outlet. When my grandchildren are engaged with media in excess, send Your Spirit to stir dissatisfaction, boredom and even disgust in their hearts so that they are motivated to pursue more worthy and healthier activities. I beseech You, Father, to rescue my grandchildren from this media quicksand that stifles healthy brain growth and deadens their ears to Your heart and Your truth.

I ask this in the name of Jesus, Amen.
