Day 26 - To Have Courage Not Fear

(Joshua 1:5-9; Isaiah 41:10; Jeremiah 22:3; I John 4:18; Philippians 4:6-7; I Peter 5:7; James 1:2; Romans 8:28)

Heavenly Father, Thank You for the example Jesus gave us in facing the agony of the cross. Even as he struggled with how difficult it would be, He pressed into You, making His anxiety known and receiving courage to walk in obedience. I ask that You would give _____________ a strong and courageous heart as they struggle with fears about ______________. May they not be dismayed by any challenge facing them. Help their young minds to grasp that they do not have to fear because You are with them and there is no fear in Your sovereign love. Teach them to look up and recognize Your help and strength. Take hold of their hand so they will follow closely beside You. May they have no anxiety about anything as they learn to cast their cares on You.

May I as a grandparent, be a safe place where my grandchildren can come to talk about their fears. May I be quick to pray with them and build courage in them, modeling how to manage anxiety and to understand that God uses trials to increase their faith and work for their good. Thank You for Your promises to be with my grandchildren wherever they go. Thank You for giving them peace which will keep their hearts and minds settled in Christ Jesus as they pour out their hearts before You. May Psalm 56:11 be the declaration of all my grandchildren:

“In God I have put my trust, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”

In the courageous name of Jesus, Amen.
