Grandchildren - Day 33 - Kept from the Evil One

Day 33 - Kept from the Evil One

Lord Jesus, You prayed for Your disciples that the Father would not take them out of the world, but keep them safe from the evil one and I make the same plea for my grandchildren (John 17:15). They are growing up and living in a world that increasingly despises truth and anyone who confesses Christ. As Paul requested prayer for himself, I ask that ____________ will be rescued from wicked and evil people. You are faithful, Lord, and You will strengthen my grandchildren to stand strong for their faith. You will guard them from the evil one. May their confidence be in the Lord as they walk in obedience to You first and foremost. May the Lord give them patient endurance that comes from Christ (2 Thessalonians 3:2-5).

I also pray that God’s word will permeate their hearts so they will win their battle with the evil one. May they not love this world or the things it offers…cravings for physical pleasure and for everything seen, and pride in achievements and possessions. Give my grandchildren discernment that this world, along with everything that the world offers, is fading away. I pray that pleasing God would dominate my grandchildren’s hearts above fulfilling worldly desires (I John 2:14-16). _______________ will keep away from anything that might take God’s place in their hearts. For God’s children do not make a practice of sinning, because Jesus holds them securely, and the evil one cannot touch them. (I John 5:18-21). In Christ, ____________ have already defeated this evil world, and they will achieve this victory through their faith. (I John 5:4).

In the name of Jesus who has already conquered the evil one, Amen.
