Grandchildren - Day 36 - Peacemakers

by Michele Eshenour on March 20, 2024

Day 36 - Peacemakers

“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9). I ask, Lord God, that my grandchildren’s lives would be characterized by peacemaking. They will be quick to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger, sowing seeds of righteousness in peace (James 1:19; 3:18). In all of their relationships they will be diligent to pursue peace and to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace (Hebrews 12:14; Ephesians 4:3). They will learn to humbly and gently deal with conflict in ways that preserve and restore relationships. May they walk in a way that pleases You, Lord, so that even their enemies will be at peace with them (Proverbs 16:7). I pray that ______________’s words and actions will not tear down, but will build up all with whom they interact.

Please protect ______________ from the trap of peacekeeping where they avoid conflict by succumbing to people-pleasing, ignoring issues that need dealt with, not setting healthy boundaries, or becoming a doormat. Help them to master healthy conflict resolution strategies that promote peace within all the spheres in which they live. By Your grace, my grandchildren will learn to pursue those things which make for peace and the building up of others (Romans 14:19).

In the name of Jesus, the One who made peace possible, Amen.
