Grandchildren - Day 37 - Ability to Focus

Day 37 - Ability to Focus

Father God, There are many reasons why my grandchildren can get distracted, whether it be a neurologic imbalance in their brain, their diet, their habits, lack of training, or just all of the stimuli in the world around them. I ask You to lovingly intervene in the mind and body of any of my grandchildren who struggle to focus on the task at hand. Open the brain pathways that may be blocked which hinder a healthy focus. Give their parents understanding into ways they can help their child grow in focus: strategies for food, sleep and exercise choices; daily routines; supplements or medication; and boundaries to help overcome the distractions that interrupt these children’s ability to concentrate. Please provide the insight, motivation and resources necessary to give my grandchildren progress and victory in being able to fixate their attention for longer periods of time.

For any grandchild who has been labeled ADD or ADHD, I stand in the gap to pray against any stigma, discouragement or apathy that has attached itself to them because of a label. In the name of Jesus, I ask for healing and deliverance from the symptoms that invited a diagnostic label. For those who take medicine with undesirable side effects, I pray that You would bring them to a place where no medication is needed. Redirect, restore and renew their minds and bodies to be able to focus and sit still. Thank You Jesus. I pray for patient and knowledgeable teachers and adults to surround them and help them succeed in managing and overcoming this hindrance.

In their spiritual lives, I pray that _______________ would fix their eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of their faith. Just as Jesus focused on the joy set before Him to be able to endure the cross and despise the shame for the greater joy of sitting down at the right hand of the throne of God, empower my grandchildren to fixate on Your promises (Hebrews 12:2). Help them to run their spiritual race in such a way, as not without aim, focused on Jesus (1 Corinthians 9:26).

Creator God, I know Your love for these children with unique needs is so deep and wide and all-encompassing. Engulf them in Your loving embrace and restore any damage that has been done to their sense of worth because of struggling in this area. To the glory of Your name, raise them up as whole, reliable, productive and confident adults. I entrust them into Your care.

I pray in Jesus precious name, our Healer and Redeemer, Amen.
