At HomeBase people are activated, equipped, and supported as they step into their God-given role in society. We believe that the local church is the central hub of all Kingdom activity. It is from the church that we receive necessary care from one another and have spiritual oversight from elders. HomeBase works as individuals integrate into the local body of Christ and from this place find their calling and purpose in life
Until we know God's heart for the hurting, we will not be an effective minister of reconciliation.
Pastor Tim Eshenour
The Bible is the standard for life and godliness, and without its clear teaching and application in our lives, we quickly stray from the truth. God’s word is the revelation of God, and therefore the only way we can properly know Him.
It is one thing to know about God; it is another thing to know God. Through Jesus Christ, every person can have a personal relationship with God. We want to know Him and His voice, His presence, and we want to live in holiness so we do not grieve the Holy Spirit.
We believe that God has called every believer to the ministry. Every Christian has gifts and abilities. God is equipping and anointing men and women in this hour to build His kingdom. We are alive for such a time as this to be a great light in the midst of darkness, and it will take every believe to bring in the harvest.
Nothing happens of eternal value in the kingdom of God unless God’s people pray. We emphasize regular prayer and intercession at AHC, as we continue to become a house of prayer. Additionally, we believe that the Holy Spirit wants to give every believer the gift of tongues as a personal prayer and intercession language.
Jesus explicitly gave the command to go and make disciples. Discipleship looks very different, and usually falls into three categories: One-on-one discipleship, discipleship groups, or spiritual parenting. The particulars don’t matter, but what does matter is that every believer has someone they are discipling to maturity.
People are the only eternal thing on the earth and are therefore the most important thing to invest in. As a result, we value hospitality and authentic relationship with one another. At AHC, we live life together. We are a family of deep relationships, living together under healthy biblical authority.
We believe that marriage and family are the foundation of everything. At its core, AHC is a family centered church that seeks to empower husbands and wives and Dads and Moms. Our church culture is centered on training and encouraging the nuclear family.
There is a direct link between our heart and our stuff. Jesus said that our heart would follow our money. We believe that financial stewardship is a foundational concept, and are passionate about empowering people to properly manage what God has given to them. After all, if we don’t manage our stuff, it will certainly manage us!
We believe the Bible to be the only authoritative, infallible, inspired Word of God for all faith and conduct.
1 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12
We believe in one God who is eternally existent in three persons – the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Genesis 1:1-2; Matthew 28:19; John 10:30
We believe Jesus was fully God and fully man. He died for the sins of the world and was resurrected to life. He is the only way for people to be saved from their sins.
1 Timothy 3:16; Hebrews 1:3-4
We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and the ministry of the Holy Spirit by which each believer is empowered to live a godly life. The Holy Spirit was sent to live within each born-again believer.
Romans 8:13-14; 1 Corinthians 12:8-11
We believe that people (Adam and Eve) were created in the image of God. As a direct result of their voluntary disobedience to God, every person that is born into this world enters with a sin nature.
Genesis 1:26-31; 3:1-24; Romans 3:25, 5:12-21
We believe that every person is born with a sin nature and is in need of salvation. Addressing this need, God sent Jesus Christ to die on the cross and take the punishment of sin for each person. Through Christ’s death, He became a substitute for every person who accepts Him as their Savior. We receive forgiveness of sins and are made right with God through faith in the shed blood of Jesus.
John 3:1-18; Romans 3:23, 5:8-9; Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:5
We believe water baptism is to follow belief in Jesus Christ. This outward act of obedience symbolizes the washing away of sins and the new life available in Christ.
Matthew 28:19; Acts 2:38; Romans 6:4; Colossians 2:12
We believe the church is not a building or ministry, but the worldwide group of people whose faith is in Jesus Christ and who follow His teachings.
1 Corinthians 12:12-27; Ephesians 2:19-22
We believe that God created sex and governs sexual behavior by His Word. Sex is intended only within the heterosexual marriage relationship (Genesis 1:27-28; Hebrews 13:4). We believe that God created two distinct genders, and rejecting or altering that gender is a rejection of God’s design. Sexual sins include but are not limited to:
We believe marriage is an exclusive covenant between one man and one woman as described by God in Scripture. Marriage is a picture of Christ’s love for the church.
Genesis 2:18-24; Ephesians 5:31-32
We believe a family is made up of a father, a mother, and their biological or adopted children. Children are to obey their parents. Parents are responsible for the schooling (instruction/training) and disciplining of their children. Children are only to be raised by a father and mother who are united in the holy covenant of marriage. Cohabitating, homosexual, and polyamory relationships are not recognized as valid family roles.
Genesis 1:27-28; Deuteronomy 4:9-10; Malachi 2:15; Ephesians 6:1-4
We believe in the resurrection of both the believer and unbeliever to eternal life. The believer to the resurrection of life and the unbeliever to the resurrection of eternal judgment.
Matthew 25:46; John 5:28-29
We believe that all who accept the redemptive work of Christ will be welcomed into heaven with these words, “Well done my good and faithful servant.” Heaven will be a place of no more sin, sickness, and death. It will be full of joy and of the presence of the Lord.
Matthew 25:21; John 14:1-4; Revelation 21:3-4
We believe that everyone who has not accepted the redemptive work of Christ will suffer eternal separation from God. All whose names are not written in the Book of Life will be found guilty and sentenced to the Lake of Fire which was created for Satan and his angels.
Matthew 10:28; Mark 9:43-47; 2 Peter 2:4; Revelation 19:20, 20:10-15
