Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. Psalm 95:1-7
Today if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah…where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did. Hebrews 3:7-9
Oh Lord, I hear the Psalmist’s words echoing in my spirit this morning – “The King above all gods.” There are many idols and things that people give themselves to – many gods. Over the years, there have been many “gods” I’ve given myself to. I confess I’ve worshipped the gods of INSERT IDOLS. Oh Lord, I declare that You are the One true God. Jesus, You are the Way, Truth, and Life. Today, I declare Your sovereignty over all rulers, kingdoms, principalities, authorities, and time. Thank You that You don’t just create, but You are intimately involved in Your creation. Thank You for the way You speak over all and You speak to me. Thank You for sustaining life itself and giving me each breath.
O Lord, renew my mind today in Your holiness and authority. You are greater than everything and worthy of all my worship, all my affections, all my obedience, and all my life. You are King of all gods and the Lover of my soul. How could I not love You in return?
In Jesus’ name, amen.
