Day 2 – Surrender

Oh Lord, I come today in the posture of surrender.  I recognize there’s a point of initial surrender with You, followed by a continual choice to surrender.  Philippians 2:12-13 says, “Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed – not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence – continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.”  Paul shares that even though someone is obedient, they still need to “work it out” or live it.  Lord, help me to work out the muscle of surrender.  Let it be something that I do daily with freshness, rather than obligation.

Oh Lord, You deserve every part of my life.  I completely surrender my will, plans, and desires.  I surrender my thoughts, grievances, and offenses.  I surrender my body and health.  I surrender my priorities and my time management.  I surrender idols and coping mechanisms.  I surrender my all to You again.  Lord, thank You for Your Word that says You will keep those in perfect peace whose hearts are stayed on You.  Lord, thank You for the peace that comes from surrender.  In a natural sense, when one army surrenders to another, the war ends, and peacetime begins.  Thank You for mirroring that in the spirit.  Lord, make me an instrument for Your use.  May You be glorified in my surrender.

In Jesus’ name, amen.
